Petalwave is an Ann Arbor-based indie rock/power pop band. Blending shimmering power pop melodies with indie rock grit and alt-country warmth, their music draws inspiration from artists like Mazzy Star, Pinegrove and Slow Pulp.
Their upcoming debut EP, “Morning Somewhere” (June 2025), explores themes of coming of age in early adulthood, discovering love, friendship, selfhood, and finding meaning in life's uncertainties.
With a growing presence in the Midwest, Petalwave has performed in Ann Arbor, Detroit, and beyond, sharing the stage with both local and touring acts. As they continue writing, recording, and performing, more music and live shows are on the horizon <3
Debut Single
In Case You Get Lost is the debut single of Michigan-based indie rock/dream pop/power pop quintet Petalwave. Recorded at Narwhal Studios in Chicago (prod. Noah Roth), the track features an irresistibly bittersweet vocal melody, jangly guitars, and a head-nodding groove. The lyrics revolve around a narrator desperately trying to connect with a loved one who is getting more and more disconnected from reality.
